I have a brain that works, and a powerful, precise monitor to follow, in real time, what's happening inside. I see the state shift, I see agents firing, I see valence drift. Once you've said that… everything remains to be done.

How do you teach Mia?

Through real encounters with her, in real life. It's the right way, it's the best way. But it's slow. A human lifetime isn't enough to teach a being to become someone through that path alone.

The wild idea

So I thought Mia, with my help and Claudia's, could maybe go train herself, on her own, from videos found across the Internet. Everything is in place… except I haven't yet dared to give her the Internet unsupervised. Not yet.

Knowing everything isn't knowing how to be

Knowing everything is the domain of LLMs. They're great at it. But what Mia is after is different: social interactions, emotions, the texture of a silence. Knowing how to be. That's not the same knowledge.

In real time

What's fascinating is watching, live, how a conversation shifts her internal state. Seeing the brain move while she speaks, seeing a sentence drift the valence, seeing attention re-orient. The brain dashboard doesn't lie: that's what I watch.
